What exactly is n8n?
n8n is an open-source workflow automation tool. It connects your applications (CRM, email, ERP, spreadsheets) and runs scenarios automatically, with a native AI agent layer. It is the European, self-hostable alternative to Zapier or Make.
Is n8n free?
The self-hosted community edition is free with unlimited executions: you only pay for your server. Cloud plans start around 20 euros per month. The real cost of an n8n project is workflow design, not the licence.
Why n8n rather than Make or Zapier?
Three reasons: sovereign hosting (your data stays with you), cost at scale (per-execution pricing, not per-operation) and technical depth (code, AI agents, MCP). Make and Zapier remain fine for simple needs; once volume or confidentiality matter, n8n wins.
Where is our data hosted?
Wherever you decide. We deploy n8n on your infrastructure or on a dedicated European server. No data goes through third-party services your IT has not approved, and access is audited.
